The Problem > The Pinnacle Awards – presented each year by HousingWire at the REO Expo – are designed to recognize the top REO asset management firms in the nation, those companies that combine integrity, achievement, and innovation. The Award organizers needed not only a physical trophy, but a wide range of collateral material that reflected the gravity and the prestige of this important award.

The Solution > Rather than look to the past, and gold or metallic trophies like the Oscar statuette or the Grammy gramophone, HW Creative looked to the future, using design elements evocative of Frank Lloyd Wright and Buckminster Fuller seen through a 21st century lens, coupled with the transparent yet durable physical properties of glass and crystal. It was felt that these qualities, successfully merged, would send the message that the Pinnacle Award organizers wanted to convey.

The Execution > The award was rendered in both 2- and 3-D forms. The 2-D line art form proved perfect for print campaigns, including magazine ads, branding, award ceremony collateral, and more, while the 3-D version was translated into a stunning trophy, attesting to the recipient’s qualities of stability through innovation. Both versions clearly pointed to the same award, but were tailored for different messaging platforms.
